Firm rules, prices and country policies change often. Verified August 2026 — always confirm on the firm’s website before you buy an evaluation.
Most traders pick a prop firm from a YouTube ad or a discount code. Then they discover — mid-evaluation — that the drawdown is intraday-trailing, or the consistency rule caps their best day, or the firm can’t even pay out to their country. The evaluation fee wasn’t the cost; the resets were.
The right way is to match the firm to you: your market (futures or forex), your budget for evaluation fees, your country and payout options, your experience level, and your trading style. That’s exactly what this finder does. It scores real firm rules — drawdown type, daily limits, consistency rules, payout speed, profit splits and country accessibility — against your answers.
Drawdown type: end-of-day trailing is far more forgiving than intraday trailing; static drawdown is the most forgiving of all. Beginners get pointed toward forgiving drawdowns. Payout terms: split percentage, first-payout speed and minimum trading days. Rules load: consistency requirements and daily loss limits punish some styles (news traders and scalpers, especially). Accessibility: evaluation cost for your budget, and — critically for our community — whether the firm reliably supports traders and payout methods across Africa, from Nigeria and South Africa to Kenya, Ghana and Cameroon. Automation policy: whether EAs and trading bots are welcome, conditional, or banned — because buying an evaluation and then discovering your robot isn’t allowed is one of the most expensive mistakes in funded trading.
As a rule: pick a firm with an end-of-day (not intraday) trailing drawdown, no aggressive consistency rule, and a cheap evaluation so a failure doesn’t hurt. For futures that often points to Apex or MyFundedFutures entry accounts; for forex, a static-drawdown two-step evaluation gives you the most room to make beginner mistakes. Run the quiz — “new to funded trading” answers weight exactly these factors.
Fewer than you’d think — and this catches thousands of traders every year. Several big-name futures firms now restrict major African countries outright: as of August 2026, MyFundedFutures and Take Profit Trader restrict Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana and Cameroon; Apex restricts Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Cameroon; Topstep bans Nigeria and Kenya. Buying an evaluation from a firm that can’t pay your country is money burned. Forex firms are generally far more accessible — FundingPips even pays instantly to Nigerian and South African cards, and FundedNext lists all five countries as eligible on both forex and futures. Our finder asks your specific country and automatically excludes firms that restrict it.
Futures firms (Apex, Topstep, MyFundedFutures) offer cheap monthly evaluations, fast payouts and regulated exchange data, but you must learn contracts and tick math. Forex firms (FundingPips, FTMO-style) offer one-time-fee evaluations and familiar MetaTrader platforms, with percentage-based drawdowns. Choose the market you already trade — switching markets just to join a firm is how evaluations die.
Fewer than the marketing suggests, and the details matter. In forex, FTMO, Goat Funded Trader, Funded Trader Markets and E8 Markets broadly allow EAs; FundingPips, Blueberry Funded, The 5%ers and Hola Prime allow them only with proof you built the EA yourself (commercial or copied EAs get payouts denied); For Traders and TX3 Funding ban automation outright. In futures, Topstep, MyFundedFutures, Tradeify, FundedNext Futures and Goat Funded Futures permit personal automated strategies, Apex allows only attended semi-automation (no set-and-forget), and Top One, Take Profit Trader, Nexgen and Funded Futures Family ban bots completely. If you run a robot like Patrex Pro, answer “bots are my main approach” in the quiz — firms that ban automation are removed from your results automatically.
Futures evaluations typically run $35–$170 per month depending on account size (discounts are constant in this industry). Forex evaluations are usually a one-time $50–$550 depending on account size. Budget for at least one reset — even good traders rarely pass their first attempt.
